Net-O2 announces new tests for verifying IP Security

Chennai, INDIA – Sep 14, 2009 — Net-O2 Technologies announces the world’s first fully automated conformance test solution for Internet Key Exchange Protocol Version 2 (IKEv2). ATTEST-IKEv2 test solution is complemented with ATTEST-IPsec and ATTEST-IKEv1 test solutions and forms a complete automated test solution to verify IP Security protocol compliance in security devices such as Firewalls, Gateways and Routers.

IPSec based VPN has become the de-facto option for secure communication by road warriors to their enterprise and for access between the geographically dispersed enterprises. While IPSec provides the needed support for tunneling, encryption and encapsulation mechanisms, IKE helps to dynamically determine the secure keys that would be used for creating the tunnels and exchange of data across the tunnels.

ATTEST IPSec test suite verifies the support for both security protocols – Encapsulated security payload (ESP) and Authentication Header (AH). Data encapsulation modes for both tunnel as well transport modes with support for a multiple types of encryption algorithms such as 3DES-CBC, AES-CBC etc., and authentication algorithms such as HMAC SHA1-96, HMAC MD5-96 are supported. ATTEST IPSec test suite can be run with any combination of Keying support such as Manual keys or dynamic keys using IKEv1 or IKEv2.

As a combined set of about 390 test cases, Net-O2 ATTEST IPSec, IKE test suites help in ensuring a security implementation complies with many of the IETF RFC standards. Along with the other security test suites for verifying 802.1X, ACLs, Denial of Service attacks and NAT, Net-O2 provides one of the most comprehensive solutions for security testing in access and edge devices.
