CHENNAI, August 18, 2004 — Net-O2 Technologies announces immediate availability of ATTEST Internet Group Multicast Protocol (IGMP) version 3 test suite for verifying conformance to IETF RFC 3376. IGMPv3 is the latest version of IGMP, which provides better bandwidth utilization in LANs and efficient forwarding in routers. The ATTEST IGMPv3 test suite runs on the ATTEST 2.2 Automated Testing framework.
With the addition of the IGMPv3 tests, the Net-O2 ATTEST IP Multicast Suite is more comprehensive due to its support for testing of local receiver aspects in advanced IP Multicast routers, said N. Muthu Kumaran, CEO, Net-O2 Technologies.
ATTEST IGMPv3 performs testing for Multicast Router functionality, Group membership, Query handling and IGMP v1/v2 interoperability of the Device Under Test (DUT).
Other IP Multicast protocol test suites from Net-O2 Technologies for IP Routers include PIM-SM and PIM-DM. ATTEST also supports a comprehensive range of Layer-2 protocols such as MSTP, RSTP, VLAN, LACP and 802.1X.
